The Monarch is the first and only entirely eco-friendly hotel on Mickey's World property, as well as the only
non-smoking resort. Representative of the butterfly from which it got its name, the hotel shines a beautiful muted orange
against the cloudless blue Florida sky. As you approach the hotel, you will notice a gentle ascent as the driveway climbs
three full stories to the lobby entrance. This is because the entire hotel is built directly atop a three story parking garage.
The large glass lobby doors are affixed with sculpted butterfly door handles. The center portion of the hotel
where the lobby is located stands seven stories tall above the parking facility. From this section, four wings extend out
at angles like the wings of a butterfly. The first portion of these wings are the same height as the center building, and
it is upon these sections that The Monarch sculptures rest. The far sections of the wings extend a full thirteen stories above
the parking facility. It is in these sections that you will find our suites located in the upper floors with views of the
parks and nighttime views of the fireworks in the distance at Magic Kingdom and Illuminations at Epcot.
The landscaping
of The Monarch is breathtaking. A vast green lawn slopes upward to the front entrance of the hotel, hiding the fact that the
hotel entrance is actually three stories above ground level. The parking facility entrances are located at the end of the
front two wings of the hotel. The transportation center, where guests can board buses to all Mickey's World theme and water
parks, as well as Downtown Mickey's World , is located between the two left side wings of the hotel. Between the
two right side wings of the hotel, you will find the home of our spa, Metamorphasis.
The Monarch proudly displays not one, but two unique sculptures by Swedish-born artist Bino. The Monarchs,
which rest atop the center portion of the hotel, are 51 feet in height and rest on a 20 foot base. Sculpted from orange alabaster,
granite, and blue quartzite, the butterflies shimmer under the Florida sun. Also used in the creation of The Monarchs were
bronze and steel, along with quartz accents.
The unveiling of these one of a kind sculptures will take place at The Monarch's Grand Opening. However,
these pictures will give an idea of the colors used from the beautiful Monarch Butterfly and of the structure of the sculpture.

After arriving at the front entrance of The Monarch, you enter the lobby through huge glass doors with carved butterfly
handles. Upon entering the large lobby you are consumed in all the color and natural light. You are warmly
greeted by cast members who welcome you and invite you to relax. As you approach the check-in
desk you notice that the lobby resembles a lush forest with columns and banisters that look like large trees, a waterfall
fountain and nature sounds filling the air. High overhead hang handpainted panels which resemble the wings of our namesake,
The Monarch. Upholstery and carpet is presented in the warm muted colors of our Earth. Oranges, golds, and greens
are the palate that warms the common areas of The Monarch.
As you wander through the vast lobby, you find that there are surprises around every corner. Whether it is a quiet
alcove for reading or a sitting area to enjoy a cool drink, the lobby of The Monarch is designed for enjoyment. The
biggest surprise of all, though, is located in the center of the lobby hidden behind some plants. There you will
find a beautiful, hand-carved butterfly carousel. Shipped from Europe in pieces and reassembled in the lobby, the carousel
is decorated with butterflies and other exquisite insects. Rides are one dollar, and all proceeds from the carousel
are donated to The Wish Wing for special activities and amenities.
Through the back of the lobby, doors lead to the Butterfly Conservatory. Just go through the special double
doors which let people go in and out but keep the butterflies in their own oasis. Our Conservatory is here for you to
enjoy, but please be respectful of the butterflies' home.

Best of all, The Monarch is pet friendly. One wing of our resort is geared to welcome ALL of your family, furry offspring
included. The rooms in this wing all have special patented air filtration systems in place so that our guest sensitive to
animal dander will never even know they are in the same building as our four legged friends. The animal friendly rooms come
complete with animal beds and food and water dishes, which are available for purchase after your stay. Doggy Day Care is available
when you are at the parks enjoying your vacation, as well as a host of pet centered activities for you to enjoy together.
